The
goal of the Conception Seminary College Apostolic Program is to develop
in the seminarian the social and listening skills, as well as compassion
and commitment to service that are vital to the priesthood.
The program enables the seminarian to
experience numerous cultures and social needs. Apostolic experiences
include educational and formational settings such as RCIA programs for
adults and religious education classes for youth. Service experiences
include visiting the elderly and mentally disabled people in group homes
and psychiatric hospitals, as well as prison inmates. Opportunities for
direct service to the needy is provided at community kitchens and
neighborhood rehabilitation programs.
In addition, there are special high-impact weekends
in the inner-city and a six-week summer program in Lithuania.
