Seminarian Andy Walsh taunts the icy depths of Lake Placid with a cannon ball
Seminarian Andy Walsh taunts the icy depths of Lake Placid with a cannon ball.

On Tuesday, February 9, numerous students took part in a CSC tradition known as the Polar Bear Club. The students took turns jumping into Lake Placid through a hole in the ice. When the ice was cut the day before it was estimated to be 6 inches deep. After all was said and done, 23 seminarians joined the 2010 Polar Bear Club. In addition to braving the cold water, the men participating also had to brave the roughly 12 degree temperatures outside. Why did these students choose to spend their afternoon freezing? For a free T-shirt...and of course to protect one of the hallowed CSC traditions.
