Conception Seminary College Names New Vice-Rector/Dean of Students

Conception, Mo – December 10, 2010 – Conception Seminary College has named Rev. Ralph O’Donnell, from the Archdiocese of Omaha, as the new Vice-Rector/Dean of Students, effective July 1, 2011. Rev. O’Donnell will succeed Rev. Daniel Merz, a priest of the Diocese of Jefferson City, who has served on the faculty of Conception Seminary College since 1999. Rev. Merz has been named Associate Director of the Secretariat of Divine Worship of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington, D.C., effective early next summer.

Rev. O’Donnell currently serves as the director of Omaha’s permanent diaconate program and as pastor of both St. Rose and St. Bridget parishes in Omaha. Ordained a priest in 1997, he has also served as both an associate pastor and as archdiocesan vocation director. Rev. O’Donnell brings with him solid pastoral experience, excellent communication and relational skills, and a strong commitment to the Church and to the priesthood.
