Let Him In – Lenten Reflection by Bob Schroeder

“Lift up your heads, O gates! / and be lifted up, O ancient doors! / that the King of glory may come in.”  (Psalm 24:7)

Lent is a time of inward reflection.

When it comes to our deepest desires, our most intimate thoughts, and especially our gravest sins, we tend to close ourselves up—to become defensive.  We do not want anyone—not even God—to see our weakness, our secrets.  But Christ asks us to open the gates of our hearts—to open the doors to those echoing recesses deep within.  In a word, to become vulnerable.  Lift up your heads, O gates!  For when you do, the King will rush in to embrace you, to renew you, and to heal you.

So let Him in.  This Lent, dare to walk the corridors of your heart with Him.  See what beauty He shows you.
