Bio / Information:
Fr. Xavier is a monk of Conception Abbey and was born in Hebron, Nebraska on June 3, 1937 – the youngest of seven children. He has attended Catholic schools his entire life and first came to Conception for high school in 1953. For much of his life, he has worked in the seminary with roles including Registrar, dorm prefect, teacher, spiritual director, and Dean of Spiritual Formation (1998-2017). He was also involved in two of the foundations of Conception Abbey – Skt. Knud’s Kloster in Denmark in 1964 and St. Pius X, in Pevely, Mo., 1967-69. He has also provided pastoral ministry in parishes and hospitals as well as the campus minister at Missouri Western State University and Northwest Missouri State University. He is currently serving his second stint as Novice and Junior Master of Conception Abbey.
