The Deacon Formation program was established in 1989 to prepare candidates for ordination to the permanent diaconate through theological and pastoral formation. The coursework is designed to deepen the lives of prayer and faith of the candidates and their wives for preparation in parish and church ministry in the communities for which they are ordained.

Classes are offered during one week in August and one weekend each month from September to June over a period of three and one-half years.
